Thigh Pop Town
A college town or suburban community in which the male population has collectively abandoned conventional shorts in favor of increasingly microscopic athletic garments known as thigh bangers.
In Thigh Pop Town, exposed thighs are not considered unusual, provocative, or even particularly noteworthy. They are simply part of the local landscape, alongside coffee shops, pickup trucks, golf courses, sports bars, and overpriced athleisure retailers.
The phenomenon is particularly pronounced in warm-weather college towns, where the combination of gym culture, recreational sports, and casual dress has rendered the seven-inch inseam practically extinct.
Defining characteristics:
* Coffee shops routinely contain multiple tables of dudes wearing three-to-five-inch athletic shorts.
* A typical outfit consists of an oversized T-shirt, thigh bangers, crew socks, expensive sneakers, and a backward baseball cap.
* Shorts are worn year-round, including during weather that would ordinarily warrant pants.
* Local retailers can charge $68 for approximately six ounces of fabric without encountering meaningful consumer resistance.
* Sitting down in public frequently results in an involuntary thigh deployment.
