A clever, cute and alternative way of saying minute where you exaggerate the 'wit' minwits are those precious minutes you ask for and give in between proper minutes and are therefore meaningful.

Nicola made Ian wait for several minwits but in the end the wait was worth it.

Midwit cuckoo 

A midwit, or someone or middling intellect, who gets caught up in some form of mass hysteria. Strong supporters of a nanny state mentality to the point of insanity, and excellent examples of the Dunning Kruger effect in action. Named after the John Wyndham novel "the Midwich Cuckoos".

"Look at these midwit cuckoos, they want all dogs put down because some child got bitten by one recently."

"This guy says all humans must be exterminated to save the planet. What a midwit cuckoo."

Midwit

Someone who is around average intelligence but is so opinionated and full of themselves that they think they're some kind of genius. Midwits have a shallow understanding of things and at first can seem a bit smart, until you dig deeper and realize they're just posers. They overlap with pseuds.

Johnny posted yet another article about advanced quantum dynamics. It got me interested because I actually studied physics, but when I asked him about it he barely knew what he was saying, what a midwit!

Midwit

Described by Vox Day as "individuals of above average intelligence, yet not too far from average".

Generally found in the 105-120 IQ range. These are the people who are considered "gifted" in primary school and perhaps "honors" in high school. In the same vein, they either think of themselves as "smart but lazy" or perform well in school yet do poorly/mediocre on standardized testing. May attend a low-tier university or none at all. Almost always very online, with strong opinions that lack nuance.

Midwits are truly cursed to be neither blissfully dumb nor reap the benefit of being of superior intelligence or a genius. They can grasp general concepts, but are less capable of digging deeper, understanding nuance, or adapting quickly to complex problems, leading to an entire middle class of perpetually unhappy, often vaguely angry people.

The Midwit Trap 

To mock a midwit using their own bad logic to make an ironic argument in a way they would, but also in a way where most of them will actually agree lest they expose themselves to the wolves that are the other stupider less-aware midwits.

This works so well, because a vast majority of midwits are on the less-aware end and generally care more about agreeing with something they already agree with especially if many other midwits already agree they all agree with it!

Dissenters to the midwits ideals are thus automatically labeled, "bad" for X emotional, fallacious, or nonsensical reasons. Legitimate refutations of takes or disagreements are labeled as "hit-pieces". Anecdotal experiences with a single person from another disagreeing group automatically means that person and anyone who agrees with them is also "bad", etc. The reason The Midwit Trap works so well is to disagree with your agreeing yet mocking take is to open themselves up to the same "out group bad" mentality they and the others they surround themselves with have. This is The Midwit Trap.

An example of executing The Midwit Trap: Responding to a midwit online with "I agree." updoot and all, and then use the most openly blatantly stupid midwit logic they all would use to come to a conclusion that they would actually agree with. The trick here is the argument has to be so openly blatantly stupid/circular/hypocritical that even some of the midwits might notice. The trick here is it will never be the majority of the hivemind so any midwits who actually do notice and call you out, you can just turn around and throw them to the wolves that are the other 90% of midwits who were too dumb to get it. By doing this they will now be labeled as part of the out-group and therefore in the hivemind of the midwits, bad.

Ingle Mingiti 

Considered by many to be something of a god among mere mortals, Ingle Mingiti was perhaps the greatest person ever to come out of southern Syria in the early 16th century. Born of Irish and Inca bloodlines, Mingiti was truly a sight to behold. It was widely rumored that he could shove a mandolin up a goat's ass without even breaking a sweat, but this was only a small example of his power.

In 1523, he set sail to Spain aboard his schooner, the Kazaa. Upon arrival, Mingiti mustered up a group of 4 Spaniards and one Portugal man, and set out for the New World. During the long journey westward, the Spaniards began to go crazy, and begged Mingiti if they could eat the Portugal man. "Nay", said Mingiti, and so it was. The Spaniards were permitted to merely chew on the Portugal man, but not to consume any part of him, and so they did. Eventually, they arrived at what would someday nearly become known as the Mormon nation of Deseret. The party explored this strange new land, but were soon attacked by a bear, which disrupted their trek, and scattered the group across the continent.

The Europeans were eventually all killed, either by Indians or baseball midgets, but Ingle Mingiti lived on. It is said that during his travels, he found the fountain of youth in Denver, and lives to this day, working as a 7-11 cashier in Toronto.

Ingle Mingiti was truly a great man, and will be remembered forever for never giving up in the face of adversity.

The Midwit Paradox 

The Midwit Paradox is a phenomenon where a midwit or group of midwits cannot understand an out groups arguments, because they can't spot fallacious arguments that they and their own in group makes. How can anyone expect them to understand out group concepts & ideas when they can't spot the most blatant and openly fallacious mistakes of their own ideas?

Example of The Midwit Paradox:

Midwit: Significant disparities between racial groups can only be indicative of environmental or genetic reasons, and that any environmental factor must be racism!
Rationalist: That's a black & white fallacy. That is erroneous because many environmental factors such as culture, religion, and the differing traditional values, or various nuances that come with them are based on free choice. Anyone spouting what you are arguing via reductio ad absurdum would be forced to conclude that free will is somehow racist... which is ridiculous.
Midwit: No it's not, you're just rambling nonsense! The experts agree with me! That's not the consensus! SOUUUURRRCEEE? You're bad and a newtsee! Anyone else who agrees with you is also bad and a newtsee/boogeyman! REEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
