The easiest, fastest, most efficient, predictable and calculable way of doing things. Getting the product out as soon as possible. Quantity over quality philosophy. Often by breaking the job up into smaller tasks that anyone can do. This way of doing things may also include a lot of machines. The machines do most of the work.

mcdonaldization is leading to a simpler world; one day, the machines will take over and we'll have ourselves to blame for relinquishing all control to technology all for convenience.
