Kardashian Effect

The ability for a public figure who has absolutely no redeeming value nor contribution to society to spin that into an asset and able to cash in.
President Obama was elected to office solely on his Kardashian Effect.

the kardashian effect

When someone becomes despite (or because of) a lack of skill, talent or ability. Usually the result of a sex tape or an Instagram account filled with selfies. Named for Kim Kardashian, who was by no means the first person to achieve fame this way, but certainly one of the most infamous.
Starla was hoping to undergo the Kardashian Effect by posting 400 selfies per day.

The Kardashian Effect

Praising someone by giving them fame and/or money for a stupid reason, much like how the Kardashians got fame, titty twitch streamers are a good example of the Kardashian effect
Man 1 : why do people like Charli Demilio have fame

Man 2 : dude, it’s the Kardashian effect

The Kardashian effect

It's when someone complains about how hard they have it, not to get OR take the help offered, but just simply because they want to get attention and create drama to show how hard they think they think they have it.

Especially useful on social media
Example: I’m stuck on the freeway car broken down, no one for miles, kids screaming in the back seat, my eldest has a disability and doesn’t understand and I have no mobile service but it dropped in enough to post this 😰

Response: Help offered by multiple people all turned down with the ‘ill solider on’, it’ll be ok’ or ‘this is my life I’m used to it’. And yet they can keep responding to said posts/texts. Oh, your suffering from the kardashian effect!

A toe rag was originally a foot wrapping used, since mediaeval times up until the mid-nineteenth century, to protect the foot from chafing by boots or shoes. As these were, quite literally, rags they weren’t usually washed, and so with use they became very smelly until they were thrown away. Because of the similarity in smell, toe rag also became the name applied to dried, salted cod or other things with a strong, unpleasant, fishy smell. It didn’t take that long before the name was applied to someone who was an obnoxious, unpleasant OIC.
1 “Socks! Those aren’t socks you smelly git, they’re toe rags!”
2 “What have you been cooking? Smells like toe rag!”
3 “I can smell ‘er fanny from ‘ere, proper toe rag.”
4 That Heale Malcolm is a right toe rag.
