Likewise, the term can also denote how race, gender, and class are NOT separate categories, but rather is like a system of categories that are linked to one another.
What this basically means is that a person's identity, and how it may be used to discriminate against them, is multidimensional and depends on the sum of all those aspects (race, gender, class). For example, in the 1950s, the common discourse back then was that black people are being treated unfairly. But what people don't realize at the time was that black women are being treated more unfairly than black men.
So, that is what Intersectionality is in a nutshell. It does not mean anything else, and it should not mean anything else. It is not a derogatory word used to express hatred. It is not political leftist jargon. It is does not originate from Marxist thought. It is not used to express one's 'privilege' over another. These people give themselves a supposed out by saying that shitting on another person simply because of their color or another arbitrary feature (such as being male, old, etc.) is okay as long as they are a member of a majority group and therefore hold “social power”. Because of that, the Intersectionalist thinks they can act with impunity from their prejudice because they have less “power” than the person they’re being racist against. Figure that one out.

Also used to describe how social inequality is experienced as an "intersection" of several forms of discrimination.

Intersectionality brings forth the idea that racism, sexism, transphobia, etc are connected and can't be abolished individually. To combat different types of oppression, Intersectionality states that we should all fight against it equally. In short, men need to fight for women, white women need to fight for brown women, women need to fight for trans women/trans men, Christians need to fight for Muslims, etc. Intersectionality is often linked to feminism, and sometimes wrongly confused as being radical when it is not. Intersectionality exludes SWERFS, TERFS, and "white only" feminists.
Intersectionality states that one form of oppression can be shaped by and can shape other forms of oppression. Racism, for example, can be sexualised, or women’s oppression can be racialised – and this happens in such a way that it becomes impossible to view different oppressions as separate.
