Thugs and idiots in uniforms
Na Gardaí Síochána (Guardians of Peace in Irish), Irish police force. Country boys who didn't get enough points in the Leaving Certificate Examinations for a decent job, or who actually wanted to be police but quickly became disillusioned with the corruption, inefficiency, and laziness that pervades the force.
Generally anglicized in common speech as "the guards"

A Flemish boy band that was popular in the early 1970's. They made hard-core heavy metal, and was composed of four boys: Enda Kenny, Peter Sutcliffe, Gerry Adams, and Stephen Rochford.

Garda Sicíní

The literal meaning of this Irish term is "Guardians of the Chicks" (or "chickens") and is used in Ireland to refer to the national police force Garda Síochána na hÉireann or the "Guardians of the Peace of Ireland". The term is somewhat pejorative and is used disparagingly if jokingly.

When we had the bomb scare the Garda Sicíní was everywhere standing around uselessly talking about Sunday's match at Croke Park.

The class was astonished, shocked if need be, what could cause such pandemonium and distress
She walked over and swiped the box and held it to the class, she yelled and screamed until there was nothing left to say
When the smoke had settled there was nothing left, but an old box of Chick Fil A
