Words you can keep

Factinista

A person, or group of people, who spend their lives telling others what is or is not a fact, based on what they have read in books.

Coined by Steven Colbert during a brilliant monologue at the White House Correspondents Dinner.
Ladies and gentlemen of the press corps, Madame First Lady, Mr. President, my name is Stephen Colbert and tonight it's my privilege to celebrate this president. We're not so different, he and I. We get it. We're not brainiacs on the nerd patrol. We're not members of the factinista. We go straight from the gut, right sir? That's where the truth lies, right down here in the gut. Do you know you have more nerve endings in your gut than you have in your head? You can look it up. I know some of you are going to say "I did look it up, and that's not true." That's 'cause you looked it up in a book.

Functionista

Someone who consistently wears situationally appropriate clothing.

Anyone who dresses purely according to the dictates of function, in response to actual weather conditions and in pursuit of personal comfort.

The opposite of fashionista.
Prior to climbing the mountain the functionistas gathered at the trail head to triple check the pit zips on their gor-tex jackets, prime their camelbak hydration systems and compare multitools.

fictionitis

A disease common consisting of an obsession-rational or otherwise-with a fictional world, character, or state of being.

Symptoms include:

-Hyperventilating, shrieking, etc. at the mention of said fictional state

-Excessive discussion of said fictional state

-Belief that this fictional state is, in fact, a reality.

This ailment affects a large majority of the world's population. If one has never attained it, they are typically viewed as as "dull" or "lifeless." A cure has yet to be discovered.
Gracie was diagnosed with fictionitis when her friends noted her ceaseless blabbering about the said "Fault in Our Stars."

Jennifer had come to the conclusion that she had attained fictionitis when she failed to go a minute without squealing to her friends "Tobias Eaton is too hot for words!"

fictionite

Slang for a religious person.
One who believes author-less books.
One who worships any god.
Fictionites believe in the Big "B" Book, though they argue over which version is the real one even though all are author-less and constantly edited.

West Midlands slang word for rockers, bikers, greasers etc. In the late 1980s it was used by the UK music press to refer to a specific scene centered around the bands Pop Will Eat Itself and Crazyhead. The term never found favour with readers of 'the inkies' (Sounds, Melody Maker and the still extant NME) and was soon dropped. Now often used in predominantly working-class areas of the midlands and the north to mean someone who listens to rock-derived music and/or dresses in a manner that suggests they affiliate themselves with rock music of some kind.
Some grebo passed with Sabbath playing on his stereo.
The Poppies are at no. 17? God, a grebo band in the charts!
