Weight-training enthusiasts who are simultaneously
fat and strong. Fatstrongs are often, but by no means exclusively, powerlifters obsessed with the Big 3 Lifts (
bench, squat, and deadlift). They look with scorn upon those who have such goals as pleasing aesthetics, mobility, or walking up a flight of stairs without hyperventilating.
In the mind of the fatstrong, every conceivable physical goal can be achieved through more squats and oats. They are oblivious to their own bulging bellies, horrific posture, and anathema to women. Medial deltoids not growing? Do more deadlifts. Calves too
small? More deadlifts. Pencil neck? More deadlifts. 30% bodyfat? More deadlifts and oats.
Ideally the fatstrong should sport a shaved
head and jaunty goatee. While frequently intelligent
outside the
gym, the fatstrong exhibits a body dysmorphia (aka bigorexia) comparable to the fat
chick who thinks she's gorgeous and men are just 'intimidated' by her.
