Fandomitis

A condition resulting from the disease that effects the brain in its ability to descern talent. Its effects make people follow their idol even after they are totally washed up (they aren't good at what they do anymore). Causes of this disease are unknown and there is no cure.
Dude, that guy still listens to new Springstein albums? He's totally got fandomitis!

fanboyism

The collective outlook and behavior of a group of people concerning a subject (movies, games, hardware, comic book characters, etc.) which when challenged results in an antagonistic, passionate, and unreasoned response.
Rampant Fanboyism can be found on most internet message boards when such hot button subjects are discussed. You know a fanboy when you see one.

Example:
Fanboy 1: "Stupid people didn't get this movie"
Fanboy 2: "If you didn't like the movie, you should'nt come here and trash it."
Fanboy 3: It's unrealistic because.....___(fill in the blank about how this movie about flying superheroes is unrealistic.___"

A group of fangirls/boys who are usually found on social media sites such as Twitter, Tumblr, and Instagram.

They are actually some of the nicest people you can meet, since many have been through their share of pain and can understand most people's emotions.

Most non-fangirls/boys tend to believe that we're brainless psychopaths with zero grammatical skill, who will murder anyone who is standing in the way of their favorite book/celebrity/etc, but that is not true (in most cases). We're actually pretty nice people, and if you get to know a few, you might actually like them.

Those "fans" that claim they're going to marry a celebrity and actually consider it true are fake fans and are not to be believed.

Many of us actually write brilliant fanfictions (The majority of us prefer Wattpad over Fanfiction.net) and draw amazing art (Example: Viria and Finchwing on DA), as opposed to what many of you want to believe.

A few fandoms are (and are not limited to) Warriors (Warrior Cats), Demigods (PJO and HOO), Directioners (One Direction), the 5SOSFam (5 Seconds of Summer), Whovians (Doctor Who), the Tyler Oakley fandom (Tyler Oakley), the Bro Army (PewDiePie), etc.

***WARNING***
YOU SHOULD NEVER INSULT A FANGIRLS/BOY'S OTP, FANDOM, OR LOVED CHARACTER/CELEBRITY/BOOK/ETC. YOU WILL FIND YOURSELF MOBBED BY HUNDREDS (I'm not exaggerating) OF FANGIRLS/BOYS IF YOU HAPPEN TO DISTURB THE WRONG FANDOM. NEVER UNDERESTIMATE US

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
Person #1: I'm actually feeling a bit sad.
Person #2: Why? What's wrong?
Person #1: I accidentally slipped that I hate Harry Potter and 5 Seconds of Summer on my Instagram account, and people started attacking me.
Person #2: They were probably the fangirls. If one hears that you hate something they love, they'll call the whole fandom over.
Person #1: Yeah, no kidding! My account got so many reports that it got deleted! And then somehow they found my backup and private accounts and got those deleted, too!
Person #2: Well, at least now you know not to mess with fandoms!

~This has actually happened before to one of my friends (they aren't really my friend anymore)~

Plural Term of the word Fandom, refering to a community or group of fans of a television show, movie, book or other media. Most commonly used to describe fan produced media groups, such as fanfiction or fanvids.

Fans usually use the term in relation to belonging to a fan group, as an territorial identifier from one community to the next, ie: "I've come across the term whumping in the SGA fandom, but we don't use that term often in the Buffy fandom."
I wrote this fic for the Buffy Fandom: This is a Smallville Fandom Vid: The buffy and HP fandoms are more popular then others.
