Jumpscare

A type of prank in the form of a video that shows a scene of normal life (sometimes a scary scene) until being interrupted briefly at the end by a monster, creature, or person jumping up in front of it. This is to potentially frighten the viewer from the abrupt changes.

Beware of jumpscare videos. Jumpscares are everywhere.
