The Internet, used in the sense that it confines us rather than liberates us. Different from Cyberspace, which implies freedom of virtual movement and expression.
As more of us become addicted to social networking sites and email, we find there is no peace in the Cyberstadt.

A fear or suspicion that providing information, such as a password or email address, in order to access an application or website could conceivably make one vulnerable to attack by phishers, hackers or viruses.
Nigel refused to accept the application request "See Who Has Been Viewing My Profile" on Facebook because he was cyberstitious to the nth degree after having been previously phished.

Cyberstition

Bartleby preferred not to open his email on the grounds that he suspected his mailserver had been hacked although he knew he'd be ribbed by colleagues for cyberstition.
