A person who adjusts themselves to fit into whatever happens to be cool at the moment. Includes their appearance, their interests, their opinions, their personalities. often reffered to as 'scenesters' 'try-too-hards' or 'idiots'.
In lieu of the new emo fad, the chameleon bought a pink shirt, tight ball-squeezing jeans, cut his hair emo style, and parted it over the side, covering exactly 1/3 of his face.

Chameleon
A person, male or female, who has identity problems, causing them to focus on the identity of others (i.e. schoolmates, co-workers, "friends," or other persons somehow involved in said chameleon's life). The focus eventually cues a temporary transformation that leads to the person mimicking another's style, habits, and even vocal patterns.
This is a most frustrating behavior to any true individual, as nothing about one's personality or style can feel "sacred" once a chameleon begins transforming to be just like them.

Boffin
British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”
Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.
