The fictional character a politician creates in order to win an election, complete with many lies and promises that will not be kept.
Everybody loved the Candidate Barack Obama. A brilliant speaker, extremely inspirational, and capable of making anyone scream with patriotism. However, while his presidency wasn't horrific, it wasn't nearly as good as he made us think it would be when he was the Candidate. He fumbled the handoff, the easiest play in sports, and gave us Trump and Biden. He needs to atone for that one.
