Danzig balancing
Buying official Glenn Danzig albums, tickets or merchandise to offset the guilt felt from buying new Misfits concert tickets or logo items; trying to lessen the injustice of Misfits fans patronizing the legal yet undeserving owners of the Misfits trademarks, Jerry Only and Doyle.
I really want these Crimson Ghost sneakers from Hot Topic even though it sickens me that Jerry Only will get the profits- so I'll buy a few things from Danzig's website for Danzig balancing.

Word Balancing
A useful heuristic for ascertaining proper pronunciation in anglo-germanic languages. A good correction algorithm for latinate words.
"Triple" in English, a common latinate word with a familiar pronunciation. Word Balancing can help to ascertain the pronunciation of the word's Belgian variant, "Trippel."
Note that "Triple" has 3 letters in each syllable, and that in English, the stress is on the first syllable.
Note that in the Belgian equivalent, an extra "p" shifts the center of gravity of the word to the right.
This is the simplest case of word-balancing - known as the "contratextual moment" principle (similar in concept to changing moments of inertia in physics). It tells you that, in this case, a stress should be placed on the second syllable: triPPEL.

Boffin
British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”
Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.

When you have to pee in a movie but don’t want to miss anything, and must do the following mental equation: will the amount I have to pee cause enough discomfort to diminish my attention capacity for the remainder of the movie to an extent which is greater than the amount of the movie I would miss by making a mad dash to the restroom.
