A colloquial term used in modern business when the act of email hyper-inflation of required language is performed, leading to a lack of engagement in the items raised in such emails, so as to negate their reason for being. This definition could indeed be referred to as "a bit of a Gareth".

bit of a rough time
A period of time in one's life categorized by extreme unhappiness, low self-esteem, and failure. The person experiencing it remains optimistic and refuses to acknowledge that their life lucks, even as they continue to fail and lose their sanity.

bit of a dick
A "bit of a dick" is literally a subsection of a penis, as for example the foreskin might be. Especially after it is detached from the main.
However the meaning is metaphorical, and is distinct from being an "utter dick" a "complete dick" and variations of the same.
"Being a dick" (utter, complete, etc) is to have a tiny thread of logic to your words or actions, while completely missing the point, being socially autistic, probably causing offence and maybe causing physical harm to an innocent.
Being a "bit of a dick" is therefore to meet the above criteria, but to be too personally insignificant to really cause more than a flicker of annoyance or a moment of disdain. Something like being head-butted by an angry chicken.

Texas is categorized as a swing state in presidential elections, but has voted for Republicans more times than for Democrats in recent history. As such, as demographics change political alignments, some Democrats believe that Texas will vote blue, or Democratic, due to their Hispanic and African American voters, who often align themselves with the Democratic Party's liberal wing.

Ratfucker
Brought to public attention by Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein in the book on the fall of Richard Nixon, All The President’s Men, ratfucker was Nixon’s term for a political operative who sows chaos among opponents; an agent provocateur. It is thought to have originated among campus political rivalries at USC, and seems to have some usage in the US military.
Along with Nixon’s other ratfuckers, Roger Stone caused fights at otherwise peaceful Democratic Party protests to generate a false narrative that the Democrats were violent and dangerous.
