Awesome. Awesome to the max!
a catchphrase said by "that guy" in Futurama Season 4 Episode 9 (Futurestock) emphasizing his 80's style. Back in the 80's "Awesome" and "to the max!" were hackneyed quips that people would spout to sound cool. Nowadays, people usually say it for camp value... especially since even in the 80's it was slightly tacky...
FRY: (whispers to That Guy) Hey, buddy... I'm from the same time as you. Remember that song, Safety Dance?
THAT GUY: Sure do! We can dance!
(starts humming 'The Safety Dance' and Fry follows)
FRY: Y'know, that dance wasn't as safe as they said it was.

"Lori Awesome" has been updated to reflect the evolving, always improving, always progressing definition of what has come to be known as the highest level of awesomeness one can hope to achieve. Lori Awesome is and will forever continue to be the coolest of the cool, the bestest of the best, the most cutest of cute, and the funniest of funny. What HAS changed, and what will forever be fact, is that Lori Awesome is not just unattainable to most. It is also no longer something all people should strive for. West Midlands slang word for rockers, bikers, greasers etc. In the late 1980s it was used by the UK music press to refer to a specific scene centered around the bands Pop Will Eat Itself and Crazyhead. The term never found favour with readers of 'the inkies' (Sounds, Melody Maker and the still extant NME) and was soon dropped. Now often used in predominantly working-class areas of the midlands and the north to mean someone who listens to rock-derived music and/or dresses in a manner that suggests they affiliate themselves with rock music of some kind.
