Autonomic 

A style of drum & bass (usually around 170bpm) devised by music heavyweights dBridge (of Bad Company) and Instra:Mental. The style of music fuses drum & bass with many other genres such as ambient, 80's and soundscape. The style has now become increasingly popular due to the podcast series and many artists from different genres have begun creating Autonomic based music. These include Skream, Actress, Lowtec, Spectrasoul, Indigo, Synkro & Joe Seven.

Exampes of artists producing the Autonomic sound include dBridge, ASC, Consequence, They Live, Instra:mental, Scuba, Code 3, Dan Habernam, Vaccine etc.

making something appear to be more autonomous than it really is.

Adopted for automation from the term greenwashing, autonowashing, v. (v. autonowash, n. autonowasher, v. autonowashed) is the practice of making unverified or misleading claims which misrepresent the appropriate level of human supervision required by a partial or semi-autonomous product, service or technology.

Autonowashing may also be extended to fully autonomous systems, in cases where system capabilities are exaggerated beyond what can be performed consistently and reliably.

The objective of autonowashing is to differentiate and/or offer a competitive advantage to an entity, through the use of superficial verbiage meant to convey a level of system competence that is misaligned with the technical specifications of the system.

Tesla has been autonowashing the capabilities of their Autopilot system.

The Autonomics

A band based out of Portland, OR, consisting of Dan Pattenburg on guitar and vocals, and twin brothers Vaughn Leikam on bass and Evan Leikam on drums and percussion. They have released one EP, Good Luck and Medicine and as of April 2011 they are working on their second. Genre is rock, blues, and alternative blend.

Dude, I saw The Autonomics last night. They are great performers, and their music is mind blowing.

Auston Matthews 

Auston Matthews is bussin when it comes to hockey. This #34 is definitely a keeper. Playing for the leafs, he has won awards for his excellent skills, such as the Rocket Richard trophy in 2021 and many more to come. We love Austie :)
