Altiro 

ɔl/ˈtɪər/oʊ {awl/TEER/oh} Adjective. -To be altiro is to be completely high on, and/or in love with, your life. When you are altiro, you are blissfully at one with your friends, your family, your world, your universe; for any reason or no reason at all. It is the highest state of consciousness or being that can be reached. Altiro can only be achieved without the aid of drugs, sex, alcohol or any other mind-altering substance. It is a feeling of ecstasy, empowerment, connection, peace and/or delight. Altiro is also a paradox; even if your life is falling apart you can still be altiro.

Example 1:I went to the grand canyon's north rim with my best friends at 4am and we watched the sunrise from Angel's Landing. It was the most perfect morning ever. I was altiro for hours.

Example 2: I just got laid off yesterday, my girlfriend/boyfriend dumped me last week, and my landlord just gave me an eviction notice, but for some reason I'm altiro and love my life.

alterous 

A type of love that is neither completely platonic nor romantic. When you have alterous feelings for someone, you want to be close to them in any way. You might want to date them, yet not feel heartbroken if they say they'd rather be friends. But conversely, if they asked you out, you'd be happy to accept. Just so long as your relationship is close and strong, you're happy!

Two alterous people might have a queerplatonic relationship with each other.

Alterous feelings can be very intense! If you experience alterous attraction but don't know about the term, it can be easy to confuse for romantic love. Just remember, romance isn't inherently stronger than other types of love.

Alterous attraction is common among asexual and aromantic people, but can be experienced by people of all orientations!

I love you, in an alterous way. I think of you as a close friend, and I'm completely satisfied with that. But if you love me romantically, I'd be willing to try dating you too. I'd even have sex with you if you wanted me to! So long as we're emotionally close, I'm happy. You mean everything to me, and I want to do anything I can to make you happy.

often used between friends and in the ace/aro community. basically an ambiguous attraction thats indistinguishable between platonic or romantic, like being unable to tell if you have a crush on them or just really enjoy being their friend.

Person 1: would you go out with (name), person 2?
person 3: no way they would! (name) is their best friend

person 2: sure i would, i have an alterous attraction to them, im fine dating them or not dating them
