Tomahawk 1440

A dramatic action on skis or a snowboard in which the rider crashes and turns end-over-end four consecutive times for a 1440 degree spin. This gives them the appearence of a spinning Tomahawk, hence the name.

Featured in Warren Miller's "Playground", a ski-enthusiast movie.
Skier: "Oh man, look at that guy swerving."

Snowboarder: "Yup, he's going down."

Skier: "Wait for it...wait for it...OH! Down he goes!"

Snowboarder: "One, two, three..."

Skier: "Hell yeah! That's four turns!"

Snowboarder: "Tomahawk 1440, bitches!"

Skier: "He's gonna be feeling that for a good week!"

1440p refers to a theoretical but not yet standard video resolution. 1440 refers to the resolution of 2560 horizontal lines of pixels and 1440 vertical lines of pixels. the "p" stands for "progressive" indicating that the image is refreshed in consecutive order, from the top to the bottom as opposed to "i" as in "1080i" which stands for "interlaced". While resolutions such as 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i, and 1080p are recognized video standards, 1440p is not. There are some monitors with this resolution, such as the 27 inch imac, but are labeled as 2560 x 1440. As this isn't a standard video definition, no consumer televisions have been produced with this resolution. Interesting to note however, was the widespread anticipation of this resolution across the forums and other sites around late 2006-2007, but nothing ever became of it.
Earl: "Hey, Clem, you ever heard of that 1440p?"

Clem: "Yeah, everybody thought it was the future in 2007, but here we are in 2010, and you still can't buy a 1440p tv"

Earl: "Aw shoot, i was hoping i could buy me one of them, and hook it up to my ps2 and play GTA san andreas on it."
