What you've stumbled into when you go to look something up quickly in Wikipedia only to emerge 3 hours later having followed hundreds of links into myriad topics about which you
never thought you would care. Like quicksand, its grip is unrelenting and the more one tries to extricate oneself, the more browser tabs one opens to continue down alternate paths. Usually starts out as a momentary tangent to try to dredge up memories of an old technology or company or natural disaster and quickly turns into an all-
day waste of
time. Not that learning is a waste of
time, but you should really get back to
work already. And close some of those tabs.
