Chiefly British; informal, affectionate rather than mocking. Typically used of a friend, and typically at the time, not after. Common collocations: go weepsy, gone all weepsy, full weepsy.
Distinguished from weepy, which describes ordinary tearfulness with no implication of drink. Weepsy requires both conditions; a sober crier is not weepsy, and a drunk who merely becomes affectionate is not either. The word carries an implication that the emotion is sincere but the timing is not — the crying is real, the trigger disproportionate.
