Initially designed as a toll road, it takes a straight-arrow path from Kew Gardens Hills towards Glen Oaks on the Queens-Nassau border. At the time, Union Turnpike traveled through relatively undeveloped areas, serving as a border between the towns of Flushing and Jamaica. Though both towns were absorbed into New York City in 1898, the division is evident today in the addresses. Buildings on the north side begin with a 113- ZIP code, indicating Flushing, and buildings to the south begin with a 114-.
Prior to the construction of Grand Central Parkway in the 1930s, Union Turnpike was heavily used, and developed businesses throughout its length. Among the landmarks found along the turnpike are Forest Park, Queens Borough Hall, St. John's University, Creedmoor Psychiatric Center, and the Queens County Farm Museum. The turnpike crosses into Nassau County at the city's easternmost point, 271st Street, entering the village of New Hyde Park.
With the exception of a section in Glendale, most of Union Turnpike consists of four traffic lanes divided by a narrow concrete median. The Glendale section contains a wide mall with trees, and in Kew Gardens, the turnpike acts as a service road for the Jackie Robinson Parkway rising dramatically above the Long Island Rail Road, before dipping below Queens Boulevard. Between Kew Gardens and the city line, the Q46 bus line travels along Union Turnpike.

Get the Union Turnpike mug.Union trash is a union member 1. who thinks they know everything, 2. who thinks they are entitled to everything, 3. who expects a pay raise and more benefits every year but don't necessarily work any harder just because they paid their dues, 4. they are often egomaniacs, lacks common sense, bureaucratic, loud, obnoxious and malcontents, and 5. one or any combination of the above. These people are difficult to get rid of in the workplace.
1. No wonder Toyota, WalMart, and Southwest (non-union companies) are beating their competitions, (GM, Ford, Chrysler, Albertson's, Safeway, American, United) they don't have any union trash in their ranks.

Just like marriage you may divorce, but you have to divorce both spouses not just one or the other. Once a union triangle is made animal abuse becomes domestic violence and you and your human spouse will get financial benefits from the bank if the pet is to die of natural causes. If it is done with a cat they are joined in holy meow-trimony. Only and all land mammals can be accepted into a union triangle.
John and Mary loved each other and their pet cat Fluffy, so they decided to join all three together in a union triangle.

Mostly full of middle class working citizens, but known to other townships as a place to find a cheap young trailor trash whore to knock up. For fun, most kids leave the area and associate with other townships (except for neshannock) and also like to drink a lot of alcohol and/or smoke a little marijuana. Union kids are known to be of the toughest around town, always getting into fights and causing trouble around the county.

Get the Union Township mug.These are the people who always think they are doing a great job even though they're just mediocre at their job, or even worse, very lousy at their job, and they think that they are entitled to a pay raise every month and more benefits every year, just because they pay their union dues.
Union trash are the reason for the decline of the manufacturing industry in the United States. GM (union company) is planning to cut jobs in the United states. Toyota (non-union company) is planning to open a new plant in Tennessee.
