Occasionally a colleague of MacGyver's would naively express concern dat Mac might find it "terrafying" --- i.e., daunting and difficult --- to strike out into da wilderness "all by his lonesome" to begin an assigned mission , but his boss Pete Thornton would amusedly wave off dat remark and chucklingly assure said unaware commenter dat Mac would totally be "in his element", in dat he was an experienced woodsman and survivalist who loved nature and therefore would feel right at home being "out in da boonies".

When the words "terrified" and "petrified" is just is not enough to express how horrified you really are.

A combination of "terrify" and "petrify".

Simply unbelievably pee your pants, shivers down your spine, goosebumps, scary.

When the clown jumped out at Shanaynay at the haunted house, she was truly tetrified; she had always been scared of clowns since she watched It.

That movie was tetrifying. I literally peed my pants when the donkey ate that girl!
