sputnum
Sputnum is the name given to the uniquely over-powering stench given off by a male 'chav' or sewer rat. The actual genetic makeup is unknown but it is said to be comprised of a number of different substances, most promonent of which is human shit and urine, which both chavs and sewer dwelling rodents seem to thrive on. Other substances that give sputnum its unique smell are cider, marijuana/cigarette smoke, cheap aftershave, sweat, brake fluid, spray-paint and cooking fat.

Boffin
British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”
Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.
