speedwood

Speedwood is a subgenre or genre of music created by Michael D. Bridges and Georger R. Baum. It consists of mainly two acoustic instruments - a guitar and a piano. Sometimes other acoustic instruments are added such as a drum, slinky, or recorder. It is a fast-paced music where the players play their instruments as hard as fast as they can and include the occassional ballad as well. The creator's website is at www.speedwood.com
We didn't want to have a full band, so we decided that we'd play speedwood.

Spedmonkey

A complete and total dork or someone who acts like a dork; applies to smart people who have momentary brain farts, or "blonde moments", if you will. Derived in part from the word sped, meaning Special Ed, which can be offensive to some, but shouldn't be because we aren't really busting on the handicapped. We're busting on the "normal" people.

Speedmod

Short for Speed-Modification.

A Speedmod is a modifier in several music games like In The Groove, Beatmania, Dance Dance Revolution or O2Jam. A lot of Speedmods look like "x3" or "x 2.5".

Explaination:

When you play a song the notes of the songs will be displayed according to the BPM of the song (Beats per minute).
After you used a Speedmod the scrolling speed of the displayed notes will increase or decrease, but it won't change the BPM of the song.

Many players are using Speedmods to increase their playing skill and timing.
Example:
Song BPM = 150
Scrolling Speed = 150

Speedmod 0.5x = 150 BPM, Scrolling Speed = 75
Speedmod 2x = 150 BPM, Scrolling Speed = 300
