scunger

The name for an oversized glass marble i.e. the childrens game of playing marbles.

When buying a bag of glass marbles back in the 1970's it would contain some ordinary sized marbles and a larger one. The ordinary ones were half inch diameter the scunger was one inch diameter. The one thing I can't remember is the value of the scunger i.e. how many marbles to a scunger. This word was used in north Dublin (Ireland) suburbs or "the hood" as we called it.

Scingles

The Scingles is the feeling you get when you have a surge of (sometimes uncontrollable) energy that makes you feel a mix of excitment and the feeling you get when you are scared. Scingles occurs due to seeing something/someone amusing and harmless coming towards you or behind you and you are helpless in stopping it. The scingles gives you a sensation of rushing tingly energy and makes you laugh.

Running up/down stairs while being chased gave me the goddamn SCINGLES.

I was running up the stairs out of the pool and someone was swimming really fast towards me and was about to grab my ankles and i just got out in time, this gave me the Scingles.

Scrungler

Someone who can look the future in the eye and stare it down. Someone who can cry and not be ashamed. Someone who would go to hell and back on a dare. Someone who isn’t afraid to be vulnerable because they know that they aren’t alone. This word embodies the essence of that one friend group you had in high school.
