retrospective remoulade

a dutch idiom about looking back on one's past. It is often characterized by focusing on the previously menial parts of life and seeing the greater value in them. Historically, this was used in the US back where many of the dutch people felt home sick and were often months from visiting home once again. Although it has mostly been left to the trash bins of society, it's a worthwhile tid bit
