Not to be confused with an epic gamer moment.
It is a moment of realisation of how
bad of a person you are after killing literally billions of NPCs and/or committing other unbelievable atrocities in videogames.
This expression is actually referencing a famous quote of J.Robert Oppenheimer, one of the
father's of
US nuclear program. While describing his feelings from witnessing the first explosion of an atomic
bomb, he said:
"We knew the
world would not be the same. A few people laughed, a few people cried, most people were silent. I remembered the
line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita. Vishnu is trying to persuade the
Prince that he should do his duty and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form and says, “Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.” I suppose we all thought that one way or another".
gosh this be giving me goosebumps every f-ing time.
I've stopped playing Plague Inc. after realising that I've actually
killed 7 billions of people like 7
times. That was trully an oppenheimer
moment.
