Auto Nut Split

Occurs in a game of conkers, where the conker of the striker splits and breaks upon impact against their opponents conker.

A conker (or buckeye) is the seed of the Horse Chestnut tree.

Juliette swung her conker, connecting perfectly with her opponents. The conker shattered and for a moment she thought she had won, the reality was she had been the victim of and Auto Nut Split and so lost the match.

When netlag gets really bad, and delays between servers exceed a certain threshhold, the {IRC} network effectively becomes partitioned for a period of time, and large numbers of people seem to be signing off at the same time and then signing back on again when things get better. An instance of this is called a 'netburp' (or sometimes, netsplit).
