Nookery is a portmanteau of 'Nook' and 'crookery' popularised by the famously fraudulent character Tom Nook from the Animal Crossing game series. He forces you to continue upgrading your home drastically increasing the price each time. Then you have to work for him and do jobs - UNPAID! Thus, Nook the Crook created his own business strategy of Nookery... Watch out for the racoons.
