To carelessly misinterpret another person's words, ideas or intentions, often with a dismissive and disparaging mindset. When a person misconstrues, they rely on their gut feeling while paying no attention to the actual content and rationale. Though it can happen anywhere, such quick-to-react idiocy is almost exclusive to Twitter and Reddit.
