Mahedy Day

Mahedy Day is celebrated in the UK on 9th December annually, every year. The original, and some say inaugural, Mahedy Day date has been lost to the sands of time and has been overlooked and forgotten by the masses for a number of years.

It has gained notoriety recently and especially during 2018 when it sporadically appeared on a number of calendars and date based spreadsheets. The perpetrators have not, as yet, been identified and their motives are unknown but believed to be in good jest.

Not a lot happens on Mahedy Day and any festivities or sacrifices (a food offering) can be undertaken and subsequently dedicated to ‘Mahedy’.

It has been noted from previous Mahedy Day records, that the eating of a flat, round, flour and water based bread, typically adorned with various meats and vegetables was consumed in its honour.

In modern times, it has now been replaced by the standard pizza (any toppings you desire, deep pan or thin crust) and keeps in touch with the original food that paid homage to Mahedy.
Trevor: Hi Mike, are you coming round on the 9th to celebrate Mahedy Day?
Mike: Of course I am. What pizza are we having this year?
Trevor: I was thinking a deep pan cheese and tomato with some pulled wild boar meat and a few rocket leaves for colour.
Mike: Sounds good, mind you anything would be better than last years offering Alan made...

church hurt

church hurt is where you experience a degree of distance, pain, or judgement from your church community. Essentially, you are just unable to “find your place”. This is prevalent in the Christian community, but can be extended to other religions.
Now that I am an adult I am beginning to heal from the church hurt that was inflicted on me as a child.

Stealthie

when you're holding up your phone and making faces at it, as though you are taking a selfie, but you're really taking a picture of the person across from you or the wall or anything else that seems interesting but you don't want to be caught dead taking a picture of.

This action is often made more convincing by wiggling the eyebrows or opening the mouth, to pretend you're trying to get a Snapchat filter to work.
FRIEND A: "Did you just take a stealthie of me?"

FRIEND B (turning phone around): "no I was just using snapchat's new filter, see?"
