Landline

Least attractive person in a couple you hook up with in order to get to the most attractive one. Named after the landline that no one really wants in a cable company's "triple play" (internet + TV + landline). Can also be used as a verb.
It was obvious that the guy was clearly more into my boyfriend than into me, but I still went along with it. I was clearly landlined.
This chick was so hot but she wouldn't do anything without her husband, so I went ahead and got the landline.

Landolina

To screw up an exceedingly menial or easy task, without possessing the mental faculties to realize your own error.

Etymology: Comes from a bastardization of the words "Land" and "Florentina," probably a reference to one of the colonies founded by Columbus on one of his trips to the Americas, which he mistook for Asia.

Can be used as a noun or a verb.
1. Christopher Columbus Landolina'd the search for a faster trade route to the Indies.

2. I heard he thought those lyrics to 'Blinded by the Light' were 'wrapped up like a douche.' What a Landolina.
