Kalipso is a name that symbolizes depth and extra layers. Kalipso come from two roots. 1. Kalypso a Greek Godess of love, loss, and rebirth and 2. Kali an Indian Godess of dialectics most famously known for life and death.

A kalipso finds light in the darkest hours and can find a reason to take sorrow tears and turn them into loving laughter.

Tai Kaliso 

By far the most badass character in Gears of War 2 if not the whole series. He is also the only Southern Islander seen so far in the series.

Sure he killed himself, but it was only because he was tired of mortal life.

Tai Kaliso survived when his rig exploded and his whole squad died, need I say more?
