An opposing opinion, usually long, emphatic and loud, that is either totally irrelevant or totally obvious, from the infallible drunk who knows more than everybody about everything.
After three beers, Bill would take the hop ed position against Aquinas on his proofs of the existence of God; after four he'd argue the hop ed position against God on the existence of Aquinas.
