Words you can keep
Basically, a piece of shit car. Usually cheap and/or broken down. Can be any size, make or model, but must (or should) be embarrassing to drive for some reason, such as when you bump the stereo all the plastic "effects" you have hot-glued to the exterior rattle, instantly betraying the cheapness of your bling.

A hoopty can be anything from a '78 Cadillac Brogham with the panels missing in front of the brake lights (but replaced on only one side with duct tape), to a fine purple two-year old Hyundai Elantra with three spinner hubcaps and a vanity plate that reads BBY GRL.

The term has also been used in certain circles as an insult to one's boy or girlfriend, as in scrub or hoochie mama.
1. Can you believe he be gettin' all mad whenever somebody lean up against his old stupid hoopty.

2. I can see now you ain't nothin' but a hoopty.

hoopty hunch

It is the position that the driver of said automobile assumes because of the adjustment of the seat. In attempt to be cool or hip, the seat back is cranked back to the point where the driver feels he/she has attained cool status. The "hunch" aspect of the description becomes apparent when the vehicle starts to move, because the driver, who can't actually see out at this point has to "hunch" forward to see who might be looking at him/her, or maybe even to drive. This is often compounded by the fact that the driver is, for whatever reason, wearing his/her hood up (inside the car!), and can barely operate the vehicle. Should we call it the moron hunch?
The seventeen year old suburban male is often afflicted with hoopty hunch. If the windows are not tinted, he can be spotted with earrings, and wearing his hat backwards, driving his grandmother's 1991 Coupe De Ville. He longs for the day this baby becomes his and he can put 20" wheels on it. But, for now, the seat adjustment is the only grandmother approved modification.

hoop-d, hoopdie, hoopdy, HOOPTIE, hoop-t, hoopty, hooptee, etc

Today it can be any car or vehicle used as personal transportation. But it was originally used to refer to classic 70's or 80's era large American cars (impalas, new yorkers, towne cars and so on...), usually found in the ghetto and in poor condition, that has been "pimped out" with garish paint, animal print interiors, wheels too large or too small and so on. They are often roomy, comfortable worn-out gas-guzzlers.
Man that hooptie ride is bitchin.
