The campaign is basically meant as a joke, but it is also a statement of frustration over the two-party system and the lack of decent candidates. Oddly some polls have shown Deez Nuts is the most popular independent candidate since Ross Perot
The Deez Nuts 2016 campaign was meant as a joke, but the campaign has brought up some interesting issues. For example Deez Nuts has pointed out the hypocrisy of Fox News for fanning the flames of birtherism in regard to Barack Obama who was born in Hawaii to an American mother and a Kenyan father, but has never questioned the citizenship of Ted Cruz who was born in Canada to an American mother and a Cuban father.

Boffin
British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”
Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.
