When one is sitting in a room or a car or any other confined space while others are smoking weed, however, said person does not actually take a “hit” off the pipe. As a result of being around so much smoke in a confined area one gets high (see tron, chron’d, chron, or trinitron) just from being in contact with said cloud of smoke.

Gary Cherone
Lead singer of the rock and roll band Extreme during the 80s, who eventually broke up. Cherone went on to replace Sammy Hagar as Van Halen's lead singer. In three years they only produced one alubm "Van Halen III". Despite much criticism, musically it was actually a pretty decent mix of a different style of Van Halen. Hagar then resumed kicking ass as Van Halen's lead singer after the public's poor opinion forced Cherone to make an early exit.

A sunburn or suntan focused on the left arm. It is caused by the left side of the body being the only half that gets exposed to sunlight while driving. Presumably, it would be located on the right side of the body in countries where they drive on the left side of the road.

Boffin
British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”
Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.
