Derived from a combination of "wimp" (connoting Beta) and "welp" (connoting internet sub-culture)
Denotes a male; usually young, and usually in a dark basement with only a computer screen as light; usually taking out internal rage about being Beta by passive aggressively trolling web boards.

It would seem to be a combination of "to wimp out" and the past participle of "to go" (went).
