Usually a witch/shaman or someone with a close relationship to (a) witch(es)/shaman(s) that can have (a) deity/ies looking after them at anytime for protection. This individual might also have a good relationship with said deity/ies which also means they can be used against another earthly person at will for the benefit of the witch, shaman, or the individual that is close to said witch/shaman. These said deities can also be demonic in nature.

Boffin
British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”
Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.
