A mother in Asian culture. She often will have a timetable made for her children for when they can study which is often most of their time. They're ruthless and want their children to be the smartest as the high population in China and other Asian countries cause a very large amount of competition for university entry and other such things alike. They may be ruthless but they're mostly doing it for your own sake.

a mother that is extremely stereotypically asian.

one that would usually do the following
-talk extremely loud on the telephone
-beat their children
-demand high grades
-favour the eldest son
-get into a car crash
-wears traditional chinese robes
-only gives their children money during chinese new years
-will take all fortune cookies seriously
-bargain at the dollar store
-cook aggresively
-mercilessly kill seafood
etc.

Tiger mom

A mother whose parenting style is both very controlling yet very tender and warm. This is in contrast to pure authoritarian parents, who are controlling but lack warmth. Children with tiger moms often follow a strict regimen and live a highly structured life. Tiger moms want the best for their child but have unrealistically high expectations regarding achievement. Whether it's school or high-status activities such as music or sports, they expect their child to perform the best. No exceptions.

The good thing about having a tiger mom is that your time isn't wasted on meaningless things like reading UD definitions. You may also not realize it, but a highly structured life can be good for you (as opposed to unstructured and chaotic). The bad things include increased stress/anxiety, low self-esteem, and the maladaptive thinking pattern that you have to perform 10/10 on everything. Contrarily, moms who adopt an authoriative (NOT authoritarian) parenting style will teach their child that making mistakes and not doing their best is totally okay, and that there is no need to put down themselves. Authoriative parenting style tends to be more healthy for the child.

Tiger moms are mainly found within the Asian demographic, and therefore also labelled as the "stereotypical Asian mom".

Ty: Hey June wanna hang out with us?
June: Sorry gotta go study.

Ty: Really? But finals is still far away.
June: Yeah but you know how it is with tiger moms, heh...
Ty: Oh oof, no worries. Good luck.

A white mom who puts a lot of pressure on her kids to get perfect SAT scores, play classical piano and avoid any thing in their life that will prevent them from attending an Ivy League school. Basically a white version of an Asian "Tiger Mom".

Girl: So why isn't Chip at the party tonight?
Guy: His mom wouldn't let him; has him doing flash cards of SAT vocabulary words all night. She's an albino tiger mom.

Somebody (pariticularly relationship between parent and child) pressuring and pushing them into academic and social greatness. Or—pushing a kid into the deep end of the pool to figure it out instead of giving them a swimming lesson
