The Holidays

A period of roughly six weeks, lasting from the end of November to some time in January. It includes a number of religious holidays, traditional celebrations, and family visits. It is generally accepted to be both the best part of the year (for people under the age of fifteen) and the worst part of the year (for people over the age of fifteen).

Includes: Thanksgiving, Hannukah, Advent, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, the Winter Solstice, St. Nick's Day, Kwanzaa, Boxing Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Winter Break (for students), and a number of others.

Sometimes used (as "Happy Holidays") as a politically correct (race, creed, and nationality-neutral) phrase on cards and decorations.

Also known as "International Muzak Month" due to the unwavering propensity of shopping establishments to assault their customers' ears with instrumental version of "Do You Hear What I Hear," "Jingle Bell Rock," and "White Christmas" for the entire six-week period.
If I hear "The Little Drummer Boy" one more time, I swear I'm going to snap. I didn't mind this as a kid, but ever since I turned fifteen, boy! I hate the holidays.

The holiday Gooch

The period of time between Christmas day and New Years Day, like the peice of skin between your nutsack and butthole.
'How was your Christmas Eric?'

'It was ok, but the Holiday Gooch was much better!!'

'Dude, where were you last night, it was New Years eve!?!'

'Sorry man, I spent my entire Holiday Gooch wrecked so I crashed out last night instead.'

Drink Beer, the holiday

An unofficial holiday originally conceived March of 2005. The holiday occurs on the 4th Saturday of every June.

The main purpose of the holiday is to honor beer in all its forms by consuming it throughout the course of the day. The secondary purpose of the holiday is to give chronic binge drinkers one more day on which they can justify over indulgence.

Note that in order to properly represent the holiday in print, appropriate capitalization and comma usage must be maintained.
Dave: Hey, what are you doing tomorrow, the 4th Saturday of this month of June?

Steve: Drinking some beers to celebrate Drink Beer, the holiday.

The Holiday Season

A combination of Christmas, Hanukka, Kwanzaa and Ramadan all in one period of time
In the old days, it was not called the Holiday Season; the Christians called it ‘Christmas’ and went to church; the Jews called it ‘Hanukka’ and went to synagogue; the atheists went to parties and drank. People passing each other on the street would say ‘Merry Christmas!’ or ‘Happy Hanukka!’ or (to the atheists) ‘Look out for the wall!’ ~Dave Barry

The Holiday Taint

The Holiday Taint is also known as the days between Christmas and New Years Eve. It aint Christmas and it aint New Years. It's also known for being the absolute suckiest week of the year. During this time you can find people dragging complete ass and praying that the work week passes without killing anyone. Expect to see people conversing with themselves, panicked at the money they just spent, and trembling uncontrollably with periodic crying spells. This is the precursor to New Years Eve/Day completion.
Yo this Holiday Taint really blows horse sac this year.
Hey man you doing anything over the holiday taint?
