Get the Teenior Citizen mug.A sub-genre of music combining sounds of Teen-pop with goth, metal, or dark styles of rock. Written by writers usually in their late teens or early twenties, and is marketed toward teenagers, in turn, often appearing on MTV, Fuse, or VH1. Not to be confused with Emo(but may both attribute to an Artist), Lyrical themes consist of overly-dramatizations of lovers or overly-dramatic hate towards ex-lovers meant to be profound yet simple enough for the average teenager to apprehend. Musical themes often consist of a slow beat and vocals then suddenly a fast paced climax with catchy beats.
Most popular examples of bands incorporating the teencore sound include Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, and Panic! at the Disco.
