A public livestream that receives absolutely no views but is conducted in a manner as though people were actively viewing it.
'Strem' is very similar to 'stream' but lacks the letter *a*, representing a livestream that is deprived of its vital component: viewers. The streamer is left alone strumming to their own
beat but they still act as if they were in-front of, or sometimes as if they are pretending to engage with, a live audience... while at the same
time understanding their viewer count is sitting at 0 and that in
reality not a soul is watching (excluding the VoD).
To immediate observers the
person(s) interacting with their webcam could be seen as being weird and/or
crazy, but in fact this supposed method is a
better way to attract and retain newcomers than by sitting in silence. In essence, *streming* relates to being constantly present in the flow state whilst giving zero fucks about what potential onlookers might initially think of you and your home-protected behavior... all for the sake of growth and the idea of living out loud on the
Internet.
Stremers tend to latch onto hopium; the majority of them believe that they are or
will one day become an actualized "real" streamer given by their determined attitude, as if it were their
destiny to be on the frontpage, but many times, they are actually fakes and simply not good enough, which leads to them burning out, quitting, and getting hooked to copium.
