sleater-kinney 

Sleater-Kinney (pronounced SLAY-ter KEN'ee) an indie punk rock trio from Olympia, Washington. Consist of the members Carrie Brownstien, Corrin Tucker and Janet Wiess. Influenced by the riot grrrl movement of the 1990s. Hailing from Portland, Oregon, the group's name is derived from Sleater-Kinney Road, Interstate 5 offramp #108 in Lacey, Washington, the location of one of their early practice spaces.

On June 27, 2006, the band announced their indefinite hiatus from performing and recording

Sleuthing 

To play the role of detective, to gather facts and information usually in the traditional Sherlock Holmes inconspicuous way.
To investigate in the manner of a detective.

A proper Sleuth needs to be intelligent, witty, and always a few steps ahead others. In fact, he never reveals all his discoveries or conclusions. His wisdom is his greatest asset and he needs to hide that wisdom if he expects to be hired for his services.

Sherlock Holmes enjoys a proper Sleuthing, like a boss!

Regina Spektor 

Musical artist from Russia. Mostly prevelant on the indie scene until her single "Fidelity," which reached video-watching fame on Youtube and was then voted #1 song of 2006 on SIRIUS Radio's Left of Center program.

Spektor experiments with several non-mainstream vocal techniques, most famously the glottal stop from "Fidelity." She's also just pretty experimental in general, known for her poetic lyrics and softer sounds.

Some of her songs are really just weird. Others are really just nice. She says she's written over 700 songs, so you have a long time to look for something that works for you.

Non-musical person: God, Regina Spektor can't sing. Have you heard her? She's so annoying!

Musical person: Actually, I respect her nearly perfect tone, rhythm-sensitive ear, and singing ability.

Goofy Sleuth 

An outsider that is too awkward to introduce themselves, but is obviously intrigued and won't stop studying your every move from a safe distance. They are usually unaware that you are aware.

Every so often I look over the balcony and see the same goofy sleuth peeping up at the party.
