Slackerdemic 

A person in academia or teaching who, despite having a considerable amount of allocated time for research and presenting their specialist ideas, chooses instead to spend their life lazing around, contributing nothing of note. High tendency to procrastinate. Late to bed, late to rise. Behaviours include excessive watching of TV and movies, eating at irregular hours, high alcohol consumption, starting essays but never finishing them, browsing the Internet, and being reclusive.
"Hey, is Bob going to the teachers' conference this year?"

"Ha, are you kidding me?! He's a total Slackerdemic!"

An epidemic of slacking. Used to describe slacking on a large and often disastrous scale.
Despite the urgency of escalating health care costs, there seems to be a slackidemic among those in power preventing any meaningful action from being taken.

slackademic 

A student, or intellectual, whom regularly isn't intellectually curious about every aspect of their discipline. Also a student, or intellectual, whom regularly finds ways to reduce his/her workload, due to laziness.
The slackademic spent most of lecture analyzing the professor's words and emotions in order to glean only the most important ideas to reduce the amount of material to review in preparation for the exam.
