Used to describe something particularly messy or unpleasant.

Can be used in the positive tense, ironically.

I hated cleaning up after your petrol tank cracked. That mess was just plain skrimmage.

The pre-cursor to a thumb war. That does not mean in fact that the thumb skrimmage can be any less intense. Or wack, for that matter.

Example: A photo comprised of only a fraction of an object or subject within frame

Just the other day I thought I got a good picture of my girlfriend, turns out I only got smimmage of her head.
