Noun: Refers to the nickname given by military personnel to illumination flares that are used on the battlefield to light large areas up.
A small plastic tube with a pullstring that, when pulled, shoots a rocket propelled flare approx. 800m into the air, which then burns with a bright orange-red colour for 50 seconds whilst dropping to the ground with a small parachute. It allows infantry units to light an area up in a battle about 1km squared so as to expose the enemy they are engaging. Although technically called Illumination Flares, military personnel refer to them as Shamoolies.

Lissa (who is a vampire, along with Rose) brought Rose back to life and in doing so the two were linked with a special bond, one that alows Rose to enter herself into Lissa's mind..which makes her the PERFECT gaurdian for Lissa. This bond was only ever expierenced twice, that we know of. When one is like Rose, has a special bond towards another, they are shadowkissed!
