Self-reflection Selfie

A self-imposed image taken with a selfie camera usually expressing a picture of person’s face after a successful moment of self-accomplishment performing a task that nobody but the picture taker cares about. This selfie can also occur in the moments of a person’s boredom where it is accompanied by a philosophical reference or caption expressing a deep lesson learned, an important self-accomplishment or very insightful self-awareness.

Such photos are meant to socially establish credibility of profound wisdom to the person posting the image and caption about themselves, but often the reference is shallow at best, and serves the purpose of attention seeking individuals who have low self-esteem, little credibility, and little wisdom, if any on the philosophical message emphasized.

Lastly, images are usually of the persons face looking glaringly empty into space or directly at the camera, or after a period of physical exertion to emphasize the struggle that led to such credibility.
Oh look! Lucy has posted her 15th self-reflection selfie this week about how she burned out from her job and is now an executive coach on the subject. Man, if I’m struggling at work, can’t wait to talk to her.

Jeez Gary! He posted another self-reflection selfie about how his commitment to his work is a direct reflection of his ability to run 5km with his Nike sports watch. Wish I can be more like Gary, what a guy!

a moment of divine self reflection

When your held finally pops out of your ass
I had a moment of divine self reflection when I realized I wasn't the center of the universe. Then I heard a loud pop

self-rejection

When a guy or girl likes somebody, and they're serious about trying to get with that person. So they talk to them, try to make them laugh, spend as much time with them as possible. Their intention usually is to make friends with that person until they build the confidence to ask them out.

What's sad about a self-rejection is, that person loses the confidence to ask them out (or they discover or think they're already going out with someone and feel there's no point in trying to build-up a future relationship). Basically they're scared of rejection.

This person can never know that they were liked, going to be asked-out, so it's a real downer when they find out somebody gave up on trying to get with them (especially if it's a pretty depressed person)

Self-rejections usually occur in low confident/self-esteem teens during their middle/high school years. Usually self-rejections hurt more than actual rejections from the person, because you feel that maybe, they would say yes. You didn't even give yourself a chance.

A self-rejection is not seeing someone in the hallway, thinking they're cute, and not talking to them and giving up. You actually try to build up a friendship with that person and give up.

A self-rejection is also not, asking out a someone, still liking someone, maybe asking them out again, and giving up. Because with this, you built up the courage to ask to ask them out.

Even though the person you were trying to ask out, didn't say "no" (you didn't ask them out period), but you say "_______ self-rejected me", which basically means you gave up on that person.

After so many self-rejections this person may feel they're never going to find somebody. The best advice for that person is to try to build them up and make them a confident being, and they might ask that person out and be happy!
EXAMPLE OF SELF-REJECTIONS:

Tony was talking to Alicia all month. He couldn't get her out of his head! He really liked her. Until one day he stopped talking to her, and she didn't know why. She knew about how he was a pretty un-confident person, so she wasn't suprised when she found out she self-rejected him.

NOT A SELF-REJECTION:

I see him walk by every day before study hall, he's so cute, but I should probably stop and try to get someone else.

AND

Roy asked her out last year, even though she did like him, she had a boyfriend. He was confident enough to ask her out again, even though this time she had a different boyfriend. He gave up and is just friends with her now.

British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”

Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.
According to the boffins downstairs, the murderer used a serrated blade.

Pee Calculus

When you have to pee in a movie but don’t want to miss anything, and must do the following mental equation: will the amount I have to pee cause enough discomfort to diminish my attention capacity for the remainder of the movie to an extent which is greater than the amount of the movie I would miss by making a mad dash to the restroom.
I saw Satantango last night, wonderful film but by the 5th hour I had to start doing pee calculus.
