Retlag

The mental exhaustion and disorientation that comes from a fictional universe (comics, movies, TV shows) retconning its own continuity so many times that you no longer know what's actually canon anymore. A blend of 'retcon' and 'jetlag' — you're not confused about time zones, you're confused about which timeline you're even in. Symptoms include not reacting to character deaths, forgetting which origin story is 'real,' and giving up on tracking canon altogether.

1. "I used to love Wolverine's backstory, but after the fifth retcon I got full-blown retlag and stopped caring what's real."
2. "Bro died in three different comics and came back all three times, I have severe retlag."
